"Horrible product and warranty is useless"
Granuale loss is incredibly rapid, shingles delaminate and won’t hold nails. 5 roof repairs needed in 6 years and BP sends an unsigned form letter denying warranty claim. After 6 years the shingles rip like cardboard. Multiple roofers looked at problems and all report product deficiency. Company does not stand by product. Do not buy these or any product from this company. I can only assume that any positive reviews must be from company itself or persons who stand to gain from such inaccurate observations.

"Do not trust warranty from BP shingles"
We installed a large roof of BP organic shingles, and within 5 years it was starting to fall apart. We ultimately had to replace the roof after 12 years of use. We sought relief from BP based on the warranty (which took weeks of work and affidavits), but ultimately they wriggled out of it, with a very minor technicality. We bore the cost of replacing the entire roof. Our problem was due to a clearly established issue with BP's Organic shingles. BP recognizes the problem and should stand by their warranty. Of course, they have discontinued the Organic shingles product because of the known defects. Their other products may be OK - but I wouldn't trust a company that doesn't stand by their warranty.

"Warring do not use BP of Canada shingles"
My home is a mid '70's and well ventilated. In late '90's my roofer installed BP of Canada organic shingles. After 5 years I noticed many on the back side starting to lose granulals and lift up. After 5 more years lots of them were standing up straight and void of granules...the front ones missing portions and full of mold. Called installer and was told of class action suit. Got notice late last year of a settlement which amount to nothing compared to what I paid and spent to replace again with USA made shingles. I give this company a minus 10 if it were available. Apparently there are millions of dissatisfied customers. I strongly recommend NOT using BP OF CANADA product.

"Sears installs"
I am contractor in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and I have been replacing Sears sold roofs with BP 3 tab shingles that have literally worn out in 10-12 years rather than the typical 20-25 year mark. Grateful for the work however it's absolutely terrible that the work is generated because of a product that has lasted just past the halfway mark. It's absolutely disheartening that Sears sold these packages to many seniors who are retired and are forced to pay for new roofs. No recourse on the big corporations. It's very evident that this product has no durability. Even with bad venting I have seen shingles last way longer than this brand.

"Disatisfied BP Shingle Customer"
We recently received our settlement offer from BP for the class action lawsuit claim we submitted. The offer took BP eight months to produce. The offer itself is extremely disappointing. They are only offering to compensate for 48 % of the roof damages saying the rest of the damage was not caused by defective BP shingles. This claim by BP is certainly not the case. The disallowed slopes have the same shingle curling and pebble loss that the allowed slopes have. So my compensation is only 48 % of 44% of what the roof cost to re-shingle in 2007. We just received a quote to re-shingle our roof and it is 2.5 times more than we paid in 2007. Disputing the offer is futile because the state of damage to our roof now is such that we must get it replaced soon because we have water damage on a ceiling already. We cannot wait another eight months hoping to get a just payment from BP. BP uses every impediment at it's disposal to minimize claims and customer satisfaction is secondary consideration.

"Poor product. Do Not Use."
I would have gladly paid the $700 it would have cost to upgrade to OC or GAF shingles. After 2 years my new roof has had multiple blow offs, sections that didn't seal and needed hand sealing. This product is one to avoid when putting a roof on. Most reputable roofing companies in the US will not work with this product. I will say they have a good warranty department, however the reimbursement is below the cost to have the repairs made. (6 estimates, covers between 60-70% of repairs) I would avoid BP shingles at all cost.

"Own up to your failure!"
I paid extra and installed the lifetime warranty, 150 mph wind, asphalt shingles with a certified installer. They've failed miserably. I'm in the process of submitting documentation for the 'potential' class action lawsuit, but reading other reviews... I'm not very optimistic. One of the options is to reinstall their product, but there are no licensed installers anywhere near me!

"Avoid this company and their products"
If I could leave a zero, I would. I have my three building roof shingles fail starting about 12 years, and they were warrantied for at least 40. Lousy product and even a worse company to deal with. Was part of the legal action against them, they ended up offering a small offering and when I didn't use their product as a replacement they gave me nothing. I'm born Canadian, but this company is a piece of crap. No customer empathy after selling garbage. Think twice before you use them since they likely won't change. I got nothing in the settlement, but I put on a new roof using Certainteed and have a 50 year parts and labor warranty. Now that is customer service.....maybe BP Canada will learn as they lose market share to a better product and company!

"Supposed to be 25 years, how about actually 14years!"
Rampart was installed in 2007, exactly 14 years ago. They are now toast! I have to have them replaced. I ought to mention they were bought through Home Depot, an installer I had some problems with regarding warranty.
