"30 year means less than 12 years"
I have to do a full re-roof as the Tamco Heratige 30 year shingles have NO aggregate left on them in many places. The roof is very slippery with all the loose aggregate where it is left, which tells me those shingles will soon be bare also. My roof lasted less than 12 years! Don't buy TAMCO!

"Shingles"
I am having horrible granular loss on a 6 year old roof, and since I bought the house from someone 1 year after it was built, I am not covered under the warranty. Customer service was no help. Very disappointing.

"Horrible Product!! Avoid!"
I had a roofing contractor put Tamko SA Base on my porch roof. I will never use them again. The Tamko roofing is literally melting away! Three years after the installation the adhesive is leaking out from under the roofing dripping black tar like gook all over my new aluminum fascia and patio pavers. Half of my patio is unusable and basically destroyed! The contractor said they cannot process the claim because Tamko requires the customer to file the claim despite the roofing contractor having all the necessary paperwork! Tamko goes out of their way to make the claim process impossible! I was determined though and gathered every required piece and sent the entire package to the company. I have not heard from them since despite numerous emails asking for a status. Tamko makes garbage products and does not stand behind their products at all! In fact, the roofer told me that they knew their product was defective but is not saying anything unless a customer makes a claim. Of course my roofing contractor did not tell me either.Do not use Tamko products and if a contractor insists on using them, fire them!!

"Warranty"
We had these installed on our house in 2018. Says lifetime limited warranty. We had a few shingles blow off our house in 2019. Sent in samples and took pictures, and they paid the claim. Great. Jump forward to now, we did the same claim and sent in the samples, on our dime. This time, they refused the claim and said the shingles were initially installed incorrectly. BS. Now, I have to get a new roof put on since more shingles have come off, since I filed my claim. Terrible product. Horrible warranty.

"Terrible experience"
I'm a builder. My new roofing contractor told me he likes Tamko. I gave them a try on my own home. They looked great until four years later when I got on the roof to inspect before solar. Fiberglass was showing on all areas of the roof. Tamko warrantees, but doesn't pay for anything other than shingles and a modest price for labor. I picked up the rest of the tab for underlayment, drip edge, vent cap, dump fees and additional labor. needless to say, I'm not putting Tamko back on. I don't want to take new solar panels off again in 4 years.

"20 Years on a 50 Year Warranty"
Paid $50,000 for a metal shingle roof with a 50 year warranty in 2003. Started experiencing leaking problems in 2021. Filed a warranty claim with Tamko, which was denied because shingles were "installed improperly." The shingles were purchased through an authorized distributor, who recommended the roofing contractor to install them. I am not sure how a consumer can do anything more to ensure a properly installed roof. Do not purchase metal shingles from Tamko!

"Terrible warranty service"
We had to have our TAMKO shingles replaced and received a "warranty" replacement. What they don't tell you is the ridge shingles, which are also TAMKO are not covered. There product is faulty but you will pay for the labor to tear off and any materials that are not shingles. I wouldn't have to tear off if there shingles weren't faulty. Terrible product and terrible warranty. I would not use there product ever again.

"Colors are not accurate at all"
Customer beware! I just had these installed on my house and their color samples on the website and sample book are WAY off from the color you get...it's so far off the roofing company that installed also sent a letter of complaint and is warning it's customers that the colors will not be even close to what they will get. I complained to tamko directly and they sent a rep who agreed that the color did not seem to match..but he said it was not up to him to decide this..he took a sample from one of the packages that were extra from the roof installation back to tamko labs for analysis. Two weeks later they said that the color is accurate, I called their claims dept and asked what do they mean accurate? The rep said that the lab said that the color was correct and the color "difference" I am seeing was because the uv rays have degraded the Tru color over time...I told him .you are saying that the color degraded 2 days after the shingles were installed? He did not answer..then I said..that sample you analyzed was not directly from the roof..it was a sample out of a new bag left over from the new install..how could it be degraded if it was never exposed?...he then tried to cover his tracks by saying..well we tell our customers to look at actual houses with the color they chose installed for accuracy. I told him..I saw pic from your website..a sample, as well in the book you supply that show a much, much different color..why are you false adverting? You should real color samples..not expect the customer to investigate the samples themselves..and if so why even show the color on your website? The rep kept saying I'm sorry but that is the correct color you requested. At this time I am now discussing the matter with an attorney about false and misleading advertising by Tamko. My roofer said they may stop carrying the line altogether after this as well, because they do not want other customers having the same problem.

"This company is a joke"
To make a long story short their warranty is bogus. They do not pay what the market rate is and the shingles are defective. The builders in my area will not even use them anymore. I am stuck having to get a new roof after 5 years and they pay the bare minimum. Nothing like having to pay an extra $6000 out of pocket for their warranty.
