"Siemens Solar Panels"
If you were lucky enough to buy these panels before Siemens stopped making then, well condenser yourself very lucky. These are hard to find because the folks who bought them don't want to give them up.

"I love My Solar Panels!"
My Siemens Solar Panels are the best that can be offered. I have had other brands of panels in the past and none have come close to the power and efficiency that mine provide for me. I've owned my panels for about six years now and they are still going strong. I like that these Siemens Solar Panels last through storms and even the cold of winter. Their durability is unmatched. I have never had to replace my solar panels because they are so durable and last so wonderfully long. I don't think I will actually ever have to replace them because they are so durable. if I had the chance to buy this same brand again, I would not hesitate for a second, and i would purchase these same Solar Panels, and probably be willing to pay even more. They are wonderful.

"Godsend"
I work at Pfiser doing research on chemical compounds, but my passion has always been occupied by the dyes inside of solar panels. Specifically so called organic solar panels have greatly captured my interest. The Solar panels I received from Siemens have been incredible. The dye that is used in these panels is unique donating electrons more efficiently to the chain than any other dye I have reviewed. The attachment process from the panels to my houses electrical system was the most difficult process. However, the six panels that occupy both sides of my roof are more than just decoration. The battery storage system which uses 15 rechargeable car batteries powers all the electronics year round. The house is not wired for electrical heat otherwise I would suspect that there would be enough energy to heat the house into most of the winter. I have never had to perform a repair.

"The solar panel"
The Siemens ST-5 solar panel I purchased off eBay in 2004. This is a thin-film panel based on CIS (Copper Indium Selenium) technology Siemens developed in the late 1990's vs the more common amorphous silicon type solar cells. Compared to the amorphous silicon thin film cells, these supposedly would take the heat better and had a higher conversion efficiency; up to 20% was measured in laboratory tests. The Siemens solar division was later bought out by Shell Oil corp in 2002 which continued to produce these until sometime in 2006 when they suddenly discontinued the line (unfortunately). This is the 5 watt version and the smallest one that was available from Siemens. The nominal current rating as listed on the back was 320millamps at 15.6 volts DC (Open circuit was around 20 volts) which was more than enough to charge a cell phone and a iPod. It would also run a radio directly but did not have the "muscle" to operate the CD player portion of the radio. I'm planning to get more of these soon and parallel them to charge the two deep cycle batteries that I have for "12 volt room" so I can finally go "off grid"
