ATAS (Aluminum Trim and Shapes) Shingles

Summary

Aluminum Trim and Shapes (ATAS) offers a line of metal shingles for commercial and residential use.

The Advanta® is made from galvanized steel and designed as an alternative to asphalt shingles and simulates depth and shadows. This shingle is available in an embossed stucco pattern, a copper-like finish, or seven colors.

Castle Top® shingles are diamond-shape tiles that create an unusual look. They are made from aluminum, copper, or zinc. They may be installed in a variety of colors to make designs.

Rumba Shakes and Bermuda Panels are made from anodized aluminum or 16 oz. copper. The finish is smooth and the application is designed for steeply pitched roves.

The PermaShake shingles take on the appearance of wood shingles, but are actually steel. Unlike wood, they resist algae, and other maintenance issues associated with natural products.

Standing Seam Shingles come in galvanized steel or copper. They are designed to be installed in a staggered pattern.

History

Jacobus P. Bus, a siding and trim carpenter, founded Aluminum Trim and Shapes in 1963. In 1972 he opened a manufacturing plant and began making residential home siding and commercial panels. With the expansion came the new name; ATAS Aluminum Corporation. In 1985 the business moved from Rochester, New York to Allentown, Pennsylvania. The company became known as ATAS International, Inc. in 1995.

ACCEL Roofing Products is the name of the residential division of ATAS.

Warranty

ATAS offers three warranty choices for their products. They all fall under the heading of 'The ATA-Protection Plan'. Choices are:

• Standard Weather Tightness- Economical, meets industry standard; authorized ATAS roofing inspectors evaluate and report on the condition of the roof
• Platinum Weather Tightness- Covers trim, accessories, and underlayments as approved by ATAS; ATAS-authorized inspectors periodically check roof; ATAS-authorized inspectors provide a final report
• Platinum Plus Weather Tightness- Covers trim, accessories, and underlayments as approved by ATAS; ATAS-authorized inspectors periodically check roof; ATAS-authorized inspectors provide a final report; labor and material coverage on installation of roof
